Re: New Active Ranking 2010

I vote for old system, because i want to submit good scores and i need at least 2 days to play, that would be hard for me having only one week. I'll make some advertisment for russian players, hopefully some of them will participate in it. @damien: how do you see new AR? locate on your website or mi...

Re: 3bv limits

I guess the explanations except "Normal distribution" are useless. Study probability theory.
Or use this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Normal_distribution

Re: 3bv limits

@abiu: 3BV doesn't have normal distribution (at least because it has big tail of high 3BV boards). But nevertheless you can find normal distribution, which could approximate 3BV distibution, you'll see that 3BV 30 limit on int corresponds exactly 3 sigma :roll:

Re: hopsing/rqp/ios

Of course hopsing is a IOS record. Let me start from correct formula of IOS = log 3BV / log (Time-1). :) IOS = log 3BV / log (Time-1) = log (3BV/s * (Time-1))/ log (Time-1) = (log 3BV/s + log (Time-1)) / log (Time-1)= log 3BV/s / log (Time-1) +1 Easy to see that if you have hopsing you have biggest ...

Re: The biggest score jump

My biggest jump on exp was 65 -> 60. Also I did three 3-sec jumps 53 -> 50, 49 -> 46, 46 -> 43.
On int I had only 16 -> 14 jump, all other scores I got in consecutive order.

Damien, if possible please shortly describe major sights to visit. I'm sure that Glazgow and Edinburg have lots of them.
I'm not sure that I'll come, but trip Glazgow-Stirling-Edinburg sounds interesting. One minus for me - no direct flights from Moscow to Scotland :(

Re: Roman Gammel 42.68 on ViennaSweeper

As far as I recall, rogen said that vsweep was too fast and provided too much of an advantage. Yes, I really said that. ViennaSweeper reveals squares faster than clone and gives some advantage for its users. I was against acceptance of ViennaSweeper for world ranking and still don't recommend it (a...
