Re: It was not meant to be.

Admittedly, yes, it is a 50-50 guess. My comment was made tongue-in-cheek because, given the very high density and the fact that minesweeper places a mine in the top-left corner if your first click is on a mine, you would have had far better odds choosing the non-corner square over the corner square.

Re: Minesweeper Super Challenge

Thanks for the invite. I applied using the form on the site. Before doing that, I read the Terms and Conditions and it states that only 3 attempts are allowed within the 12 hours. May I ask why? My only concern is that a player could experience a bad start. What I mean is, if a player clicks two squ...

I'm interested in trying it out.

Re: Please help me with this board (20150614)

Regarding the first image, there is no mine at coordinate (2,4). You can see from the following two images that no matter where the mine is for the 4 in the bottom-left corner, there will always be an empty square at coord (2,4).

Well, that was a helpful tip - comment on the video. Yes, I should have thought of that first hahaha.

Custom Density (16x30@180m & 24x30@250m)

I stumbled upon these two videos on YT today and they appear to show someone (username: EasternHermit) achieving 180 mines on 16x30 and 250 mines on 24x30. Bearing in mind that the current records on these boards are 161 and 225 respectively, what do you think? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r8anaH...

RE: Hardest percentage of mine density

...I've always wondered what the optimally hardest percentage of mine density is, or if it varies across board sizes. Just to pick a nice number, I'll conjecture that it moves toward 1/sqrt2 as board sizes become larger. I don't see a need to limit ourselves to Intermediate and Expert densities, wh...

Re: Custom Density Forum Comp

This sounds like a fun competition; I like the element trying to beat the other results when a higher number of mines requires more luck. My only big suggestion is that you impose a limit on the number of mines (obviously we don't want people solving e.g. 8x8 63 mines). I'm not sure what this limit...

Re: Minesweeper X Suggestions

I would like to see an Auto-reset option implemented. Reset at a certain time? That kind of changes the gameplay, but I'll keep it in mind... I wasn't very specific. I meant auto-reset when blasted like in Arbiter. But I guess a timed auto-reset might be an additional feature that would appeal to t...

Re: Minesweeper X Suggestions

I would like to see an Auto-reset option implemented. Also, if possible, I would like the statistics to show the number of mines remaining along with the number of unclicked/unflagged squares remaining.

Thanks.
