Mines - Game Overview

Mines was written for DOS in 1988 by Mark VanKekerix.

The metal detector you have been supplied with can tell you the number of mines in your immediate area, but it refuses to tell you in what direction those mines might be. Worst yet, it appears that the minefield is filled not only with mines, but also with the remains of stone walls, crumbling from the impact of mortar fire. Now you must find a path around the walls as well. To top it all off, some of the walls appear to be reinforced withmetal, and your defective metal detector whines insanely at you if you approch them too closely. Despite all this, you fearlessly begin your task...

The game is 30x20 and there are 8 density levels and 4 modes. The modes are Mines, Mines & Walls, Mines & Metal Walls, Mines & Walls & Metal Walls. Goal is to find a path from the top left corner to the bottom right corner. Game claims to always have a safe path but there are no scores and the game is Freeware.
