Goldmines
Gold Mines was written for DOS in 1991 by Astro Computing.
You are to find a number of Gold bars which have been hidden in a mine field. You have a mine detector which will tell you how many mines are touching (horizontally, vertially, and diagonally) any given square. Your mission, should you accept, is to find all the gold bars without stepping on a mine.
There are a number of little squares in a rectangle on your screen. You can select any square with the left mouse button or enter key. The square contains a gold bar, a mine, or nothing. There is also a number indicating how many mines are touching the square (Don't forget diagonally). The top left square has already been selected. It is blank indicating there are no mines touching it.
The game allows 3x2 to 31x20 and you can have 1 to 615 mines and 1 to 615 gold bars. The game ends when all gold bars have been found but there is no scoring system. You can save one game and reload it later to complete it. Other options include choosing from 63 background colours. The game was originally Shareware for $10.
