Mine - Game Overview

Mine was written in 1995 for OS/2 by Peter Wansch.

The Entertainment Pack for OS/2 is a collection of classic games including Battleship, Backgammon, Checkers, Connect Four, Eleven, Galaxy, Greed, Golf, King 'n Ace, Master Mind, Memory, Mine, Othello, Pac, Peaks, Pegged, Poker, Puzzle, Pyramid, Roulette, Scrooge, Store, Tetravex, Tetris, Tic Tac Toe, Towers and Worm for OS/2 Warp. All games exploit the advanced multimedia and multithreading capabilities of OS/2 Warp.

Mine was released several times as part of a games pack for OS/2 by Peter Wansch and Siegfried Hanisch. Mine has the same difficulty levels as Windows Minesweeper (8x8 with 10 mines, 16x6 with 40 mines, 30x16 with 99 mines). Custom level allows 50x30 with 990 mines. Timer starts immediately and not when you make the first click. There are options for questionmarks, safe first click and sounds. Players can set their own sounds for various actions, such as starting games, clicking, explosions, illegal moves and won games. When a game is lost all mines are shown even if flagged during the game. Written for OS2 Warp 3 but works on earlier OS2 2.X releases.
