Rules

Players were ranked on the sum of their best 6 Intermediate and 6 Expert games and had 3 hours to play Minesweeper using Clone 0.96 beta. Players who did not complete enough games were ranked by completed games. The tournament used RT+1 but all scores have been converted to Real Time.

Details

The 2nd World Minesweeper Championship took place 13 August 2005 at the University of Vienna in Room 204 of the Faculty of Mathematics. A Nonosweeper tournament was held in the morning followed by a 20min warm up session at 11:50. The tournament started at 12:15 with 90min of Intermediate with players ranked by the sum of their best 5 Intermediate scores. Another 90min commenced at 14:15 with players ranked by the sum of their best 5 Expert scores. Players who were still alive then had 1 hour starting at 16:15 to improve their scores with the final ranking determined by the best 6 Intermediate and best 6 Expert scores. Players were awarded shirts and certificates and Oliver Scheer, the top ranked player from Germany, won all Minesweeper sessions.
