You are a private in the 6502nd battalion of the commodorian army. Your main ambiition is to rise in rank. One day on opportunity arises. You have been parachuted over the apple-achian enemy main computer control center. After getting hold of several important top-secret tapes and avoiding the enemy captain, Ray D. O'Shack, you head towards your home base. Now the only thing between you and freedom is a mine field...
The original game was for the PET with 40 columns. Both versions have bushes and hidden mines but one has visible mines for training purposes.
A later version was written for the PET with 80 columns. This has bricks which can be collected and thrown onto hidden mines.
All versions have four difficulty levels and there is a sensor that beeps when you are near a mine (including in diagonal directions).
The following attributes can be used to map the evolution of Minesweeper. Blue cells are confirmed attributes for official versions of Mine Field. Yellow cells are unknown.
