You must bravely try to escape from the minefield in this strategy game written for the ZX81 by Simon Gould. Use the cursor keys to move carefully around the screen but take note of the warning sign. At the beginning of the game, you must input the number of mines that will be planted in the minefield. Any number less than 35 can be used. If you tread on a mine you will explode and the locations of the other mines will be shown. There is a timer and an on-screen scoring feature.
You have 100 seconds to exit the Minefield through the EXIT sign at the top of the screen. A WARNING will appear when you are within 2 moves of a mine. You navigate using the 5, 6, 7, 8 keys.
The ZX81 version was written by Simon Gould. It was included in the book "More Games For Your ZX81" (games completed July 1983 by teenage editors Scott Vincent and Clive Gifford). It was modified for the book "More Games For Your ZX Spectrum" (games completed August 1983 by teenage editor Graham Carter) then updated in 1984 and published in "Games For Your MSX Computer" (games completed in January 1985 by Graham Carter).
