Minefield (1990)

Overview
Minefield was written in 1990 for the BBC Micro by BEEBUG.

Minefield is an addictive game similar to the popular arcade game UXB. The rules are very simple. The game is played on a square grid of blocks. Scattered around the grid are unexploded mines, each of which in turn will start to flash, at which point you have ten seconds to reach and defuse the mine before it explodes. However, once you have passed over any block, it turns green to indicate you may not pass that way again. Defusing all the mines allows you to progress to the next level but as the levels rise, you start to meet the monsters which just make a bee-line for you.

You start with 3 lives. If you clear the bombs a new level is created and you keep playing until you are dead. You can wrap around the grid but you cannot move into a square you previously opened. The goal of each level is to clear the bombs without getting stuck.
