Minefield (1979)



Overview
Minefield was written in 1979 for the Commodore PET 2001 by Peter Calver.

Peter Calver and Pearl Wellard founded Supersoft in 1978. They advertised software in Personal Computer World Magazine and Practical Computing Magazine which described the game as "the kids' favourite", "super for kids" and "watch where you step". It was sold on cassette tape for £3.49.

Calver told msgame (2022) the earliest surviving catalogue, from December 1979, listed the game as "A fast moving game with attractive graphics. The kids' favourite." It was removed from the catalogue in 1981. He recalls, "I wrote the game that my company published [...] it would have been one of the very first programs I wrote."
