The general idea is to guide the little man towards the little woman, grab her, and lead her to safety. If my efforts are anything to go by she'd be better off finding her own way out! The keys to use are W - up, Z - down, A - left and D - right. The tricky bit is that you can't actually see the mines although you do have a detector which indicates hows many mines, if any, are in the immediate vicinity. If you are successful the mines are revealed and you get an action replay of your route.
The down key is actually the letter X. There are multiple levels and you keep playing until you step on a mine. The game remembers your highscore for your current session. Unlike other Mined-Out clones, Minefield does not show your path, which makes solving the mine locations more difficult.
The following attributes can be used to map the evolution of Minesweeper. Blue cells are confirmed attributes for official versions of Minefield. Yellow cells are unknown.
