Mines - Game Overview

Mines was written for RISC OS in 1992 by Mike Cooper.

Mines is a simple logical puzzle. The aim is to reach the bottom right hand corner by 'exploring' the mine-field. Each square will have a certain number of mines around it. The number will be shown when you click on the square, using the left-hand button. It is possible, by deduction, to work through the mine-field without stepping on mines (although a certain amount of guesswork usually appears...).

The game is a fixed grid of 16x16 with a default of 60 mines. You can set the mines to between 30 and 150 and choose 1, 2 or 3 lives. The game starts with an opening in the top left corner and you must navigate to the bottom right corner so you can only click on cells next to already opened cells. There is a timer but no highscores. You can flag mines but there are no questionmarks. You can chord by pressing [SHIFT] and clicking the left mouse button.
