NRMAZE was written for DOS in 1992 by Tanstaafl, Inc.
The grid is 13x13 and there are 10 difficulty levels. The goal is to find a path from the top left corner to the bottom right corner. The game is loosely based on Relentless Logic (it sometimes plays the same music) but keeps numbers in opened cells and lets you mark mines with [F6] and safe squares [F5]. It also has extra lives which are randomly hidden and allow you to keep playing after stepping on a mine. You receive points for marked squares and opened squares.
Levels 7, 8 and 9 contain hidden red numbers which can transport you to a different layer, where you start again from a different location on the grid. These layers have high mine densities and can only be solved if you have accumulated multiple lives. There is a single Highscore for all levels.
The game was written in Microsoft Professional BASIC and was originally Shareware for $10.
