HexSweeper was written for OpenWindows 3 on SunOS by Liam R. E. Quin.
HexSweeper is a game a bit like the VMS (or Microsoft Windows) minesweeper game, except that instead of a rectangular grid there's a grid of hexagons.
The final version saves your best 30 scores and its auto-opening feature is called "AutoWalk". You open cells by pressing [SPACE BAR] or clicking the left mouse button, and you mark mines by typing [M] or clicking the middle mouse button. The game is runs in monochrome and colour.
HexSweeper was written specifically for OpenWindows 3 using NeWS PostScript and does not work on earlier versions or X Windows. The file warns "HexSweeper does not run under Linux, FreeBSD, NetBSD, OpenBSD, or any version of XFree86. You must be running the xnews windowing server, usually on a SPARC system". In addition, "You must be running OpenWindows 3 under SunOS 4.1 or Solaris 2".
