Minehunt - Game Overview

Minehunt was written for DOS in 1991 by Narimane Nabahi.

The object of this game is really simple: You have a tank and a small radar. Your are in a field and deadly MINES are surrounding you. Your radar can only tell you how many mines are near you (diagonals included). Your tank can go in any direction. If the tank goes on a mine, it blows up. The tank needs to rescue the two people in the lower right corner. The game is a like the one made for the HP 48sx calculator. It is included in the Equation Library Card. Someone extracted it and gave it to me. I liked the game very much so, I tought about doing it on the PC. My objective is simple: No fancy graphics nor tendious presentation, just the game. The only thing I wanted was to make it work on EVERY computer. My program can also work with the 43/50 lines of EGA/VGA. This is very interesting if you want a REAL challenge since you can have a bigger board. There are no special keys. If your boss comes, just press ENTER. The game will quit and do a CLS. The orginal game had a 16*8 Board and 20 mines. Entering a negative number displays the mines.

The game is a direct clone of Minehunt for the HP calculator which in turn was a clone of Relentless Logic, so the object of the game is to find a path to the bottom corner. There are no highscores but you receive 1 point for each opened square (so even though the objective is to find the path you are rewarded for clearing the board). Games range from 3x3 to 25x23 with 0 to 499 mines.
