Mine was written for DOS in 1991 by Feynmann Software.
This is the classic game of minefields. There are 600 squares and 100 mines concealed therein. The object of the game is to move onto the highlighted goal square in the lower righthand corner. You always start in the upper lefthand corner square. Use the cursor keys to move. Home, PgUp, End, and PgDn keys move you diagonally. Escape exits the game. You win by moving onto the goal square. You lose by moving onto a mine.
The screen cursor is the white number which represents the number of squares to which you are adjacent that contain mines. The gray number at the top of the screen represents the number of squares left to visit which do not contain mines. It starts at 498 -- 500 minus the starting and goal squares.
There are two ways to play this game, two ways to get to the goal square. The first and easier is simply to find a path to it. The second way, more challenging, is to teleport there. You accomplish that by visiting every square on the board that doesn't contain a mine. When you move onto the last such square the game will place you in the goal square and acknowledge your victory. That is the reason for the counter at the top, so that you will know how many more squares you have to visit.
Visited squares are filled in with various colors representing the number of mine-occupied adjacent squares. Green means that you are next to one mine, gold means next to two mines, and so on. This allows you to to know that information without having to revisit a square with the cursor.
The game is 30x20 with 100 mines. There are no highscores and you cannot mark mines. Two interesting features are colour coding squares (instead of showing numbers) and allowing you to teleport to the finish if you open all safe squares.
