OS/2 Minesweeper was written for OS/2 in 1996 by Gordon Reeder.
Ready for some Mine sweeper with an attitude? This is not your mothers Minesweeper! So read the documentation (SWEEPER.DOC) or look through the on-line help before starting to play. I wrote this program to learn how to do OS/2 PM programing. Somewhere along the way I gave it an attitude. You will find the following features: 1) There are rocks in the minefield 2) There is an Unexploded bomb in the mine field that needs to be defused 3) There is a pesky gopher in the mine field that likes to push the mines around and steal your markers 4) You can cheat!!! 5) Clear around works by MB1 clicking an open square. Not by chording. 6) The silly smiley face button is gone. Other than that it is your basic mine sweeper game.
Difficulty levels are Beginner (10x8 with 11 mines and 4 rocks), Intermediate (16x16 with 40 mines and 10 rocks) and Expert (32x20 with 99 mines and 25 rocks). Rocks are optional and the gopher and UXB (unexploded bomb) are also optional. If you click the UXB you need to guess the correct sequence of buttons to disarm the bomb and keep playing. The gopher appears on all levels and moves mines around. There is one highscore per level. A cheat function called "peek" makes your next click temporarily show the contents of a square, but if the square contains a mine it will occasionally explode.
