Details

The 5th Russian Minesweeper Championship took place on 3 December 2011 at a computer club in Moscow (Playground). The previous organiser was unable to participate and the event was instead hosted by Konstantin Forofontov with help from Arsen Balishyan. Clone 2007 was abandoned in favour of Viennasweeper 2.2 which uploaded live results to the Scoreganizer site previously used during the 2011 World Championship in Zurich. The tournament started at 14:20 and finished at 17:20. Trophies were awarded to the best 3 players and medals given to the best 6 players with everyone receiving certificates. It was clear that Pavel Mishin would win easily and confirm his ranking as the best player in Russia, but the battle for 3rd and 4th place continued until the final minutes with Andrey Devyatkin passing Konstantin Forofontov for a podium finish. Two players joined the Tournament Ranking and 3 players improved 5 previous scores.
