Players were ranked on the sum of their best 5 Intermediate and 5 Expert games and had 3 hours to play Minesweeper using Viennasweeper 3.0.2C. Each unfinished game was given a penalty of 999.999 seconds.
The 10th Russian Minesweeper Championship took place on 12 November 2016. Similar to the 2015 championship this tournament was online with everyone playing from home using Viennasweeper and the Scoreganizer site to publish live results. One player from China (Jin-Fan Lin) took part as an honourary guest.
